Exclusively First Responders was founded in 2018 by Laura Linder — whose lifelong friend, a firefighter and hazmat specialist, drank himself to death after years of struggling in silence. EFR exists so that story never has to happen again.

EFR operates as the heart of a three-partner ecosystem — delivering retreat healing, AI-powered daily support, and biometric crisis prevention in one unified approach.
Retreat operations, peer facilitation, family programs, grant administration, and community building. The heart of the mission. EFR provides the sanctuary, the people, and the structure that makes healing possible — all free of charge.
31 proprietary programs, 930+ lessons, and an AI companion named Bodi™ — the digital platform that extends healing beyond the retreat walls. Every participant receives lifetime access. Because recovery never ends, and neither does our support.
Predictive AI wearables that monitor HRV, sleep, and stress biomarkers to detect crisis indicators before they escalate. Founded by Carnegie Science Award recipient Ellie Gordon. "Behaivior knows WHEN. Meet Recovery knows HOW."
Every dollar brings a warrior closer to healing — and keeps them there. EFR programs are always free to participants. We need your support to keep it that way.
Founded in 2018, Exclusively First Responders exists because every hero deserves a safe place to heal — without risking everything they've built.
Laura Linder
Founder & Director
Laura founded Exclusively First Responders with a simple but fierce conviction: the people who save us deserve to be saved too.
The seed of EFR was planted the day she lost her lifelong friend — a firefighter and hazmat specialist — to addiction. He had been in and out of meetings and rehabs for years, never able to find a place where he truly felt safe. Had there been a peer sanctuary designed for someone like him, he might still be here.
Laura brings over 50 years of lived recovery experience to this mission — as a family member, a friend, and as someone in recovery herself. She pursued her drug and alcohol counseling certification, working over 3,000 hours in the field before the system's barriers stopped her. Rather than give up, she built something better: a platform and a program designed around what actually helps people heal.
EFR operates at the intersection of peer support, technology, and holistic healing — delivering what the traditional rehab industry has long failed to provide: private, dignified, peer-driven care for the people who protect us, at no cost.
"If you keep running away from what you are afraid of, it continues to own you. EFR exists to help our heroes stop running — and start healing."— Laura Linder, Founder

Save those who save us — through peer-delivered healing, cutting-edge technology, and the radical belief that those who protect us deserve protection in return.
Traditional rehabilitation centers cost $20,000–$90,000 and carry career-ending stigma. A first responder who seeks help risks their badge, their pension, and their reputation. So most don't seek help at all. And the ones who do find a system that ends when they walk out the door — with a pamphlet and a meeting schedule.
"The industry calls post-treatment support 'aftercare' — and for most people, it's virtually nonexistent. EFR exists to fill this critical gap with healing that never ends."
EFR is not a treatment center. We are a training and healing sanctuary — peer-delivered, holistic, and free. Built on the same science that powers Boulder Crest Foundation's proven model, enhanced with addiction recovery expertise, AI-powered daily support, and biometric crisis prediction that no other program in the nation offers.
Programs facilitated by people who have worn the badge, carried the weight, and found their own way through. Because healing happens fastest among those who truly understand — not in a clinical office with someone reading from a textbook.
Equine therapy, somatic experiencing, breathwork, EMDR, art therapy, nature immersion, Eastern medicine, and an ever-growing menu of elective modalities as practitioners join our mission. Always researching what works. Always expanding what's possible.
Every warrior who attends an EFR retreat receives lifetime access to the Meet Recovery app — 31 programs, 930+ lessons, and an AI companion available 24/7/365. Because the retreat lights the fire. The app keeps it burning. Forever.
EFR holds the family unit as its highest aspiration — and holds every individual as its highest commitment. We work toward reunion where reunion is possible. We work toward dignity and personal wholeness where it is not.
For spouses and partners navigating the road alongside a warrior in recovery
For family members of warriors experiencing PTSD — healing the ripple effects of trauma
For families rebuilding after the journey — toward shared dreams, or toward their own
EFR is actively pursuing property in Southern California — in the mountains and valleys of Los Angeles, Kern, and Ventura Counties — to build a physical sanctuary where warriors and families can heal in nature, among peers, and with the full support of the EFR ecosystem.
Agua Dulce · Acton · Leona Valley (LA County) · Lake Hughes · Frazier Park (Kern County) · Rural Ventura County. Within reach of the Santa Clarita Valley — home to one of the highest concentrations of first responders and veterans in California.
10–20+ acres. A sanctuary that feels like home, not a clinic. Peer facilitators, not clinicians. Holistic practitioners as vendors, not employees. Every modality chosen because it works — and every warrior treated with the dignity they've earned.
EFR's program roadmap includes psychedelic-assisted therapy as regulations permit — following the MAPS model that has shown remarkable outcomes for treatment-resistant PTSD. The future of healing for those who have tried everything else.
